Spectacular concerts

Kick off the holiday season at the University Center for the Arts for the Annual Holiday Spectacular and Parade of Lights Preview.

The Holiday Spectacular returns on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. in Griffin Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 for students, $10 for youth (under 18), and $22 for adults. Ticket revenue goes toward funding annual scholarships for CSU music students.

Before the Thursday concert, at 6 p.m., be sure to enjoy a free performance just outside the doors of the UCA, when CSU’s Marching Band will be previewing their annual performance in the Denver 9News Parade of Lights for Fort Collins audiences.

Every year, the band leads the holiday parade through the streets of downtown Denver. On Thursday, they will march from the corner of Mathews and Lake streets to showcase the performance in Denver the following day.

The annual Spectacular – a much warmer indoor experience — will feature CSU Choirs as well as the University Symphony orchestra, performing an array of secular, sacred, and traditional holiday music for all ages, especially featuring familiar holiday characters. Professors, students, and guests will highlight their holiday traditions and will feature a performing force of over 250 students.

Parade of Lights“I can assure you that this event will be a memorable start to your holiday season,” says Wesley Ferreira, associate professor of clarinet and concert organizer.

This annual concert will be a culmination of what the winter season can mean for students, faculty, and staff, and represents Colorado State’s celebration of community through music.
