On Monday, Nov. 12, Fifty30: Elevated Eats opened in the Lory Student Center first floor, right next to the familiar Ramskellar, in a space that has hosted other eateries in the past. This brand-new restaurant features something CSU students, faculty, and staff have said they need at the LSC: variety.
Fifty30 offers a plethora of sandwiches and other food items not found elsewhere in the building, like the toasted Belford sandwich which features layers of turkey, tomato, lettuce and avocado.
Fifty30 also offers Walrus Ice Cream, an extension of a local ice cream shop in downtown Fort Collins that offers unique ice cream flavors made from all-natural and locally sourced products.
Fifty30’s name and subtitle “elevated eats” reference Fort Collins’ altitude of roughly 5,030 feet.
“We are excited to finally have the shop opened up; the concept of Fifty30 was more than two years in the making and was decided on after several student and community surveys,” said Geoff Valdez, assistant director for retail operations of Lory Dining Services. “We are student-run and student-staffed and almost everything down there is made from scratch.”
Hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday. Closed over winter break.
