Michael McFaul, Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia, to speak virtually with CSU community

On December 3, former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul will speak virtually with the CSU community about the power relationships between the United States, China, and Russia. During this conversation, organized by the Office of International Programs, McFaul will share his expertise as well as an account of what he witnessed while serving as ambassador in Russia.

McFaul currently holds several positions at Stanford University, including professor of international studies in political science, director and senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. He also is an analyst for NBC News and columnist at The Washington Post

McFaul has authored several books, including the recent New York Times bestseller From Cold War to Hot Peace: An American Ambassador in Putin’s Russia. His current research interests include American foreign policy, international relations between the U.S., China, and Russia, and the relationship between democracy and development.
