Campus Recreation benefits

Access to the award-winning Campus Recreation facility benefits employee members many ways, far beyond just a space to work out in. Try out aquatics, climbing, fitness classes, outdoor programs, massage therapy, personal training, intramurals, and drop-in sports, and more.

Family hours are another added benefit of joining the Rec’ing Ram fam through the purchase of a membership. During family and youth hours, members can bring in their partner or spouse and up to four youth (age 17 and under) to use the facility. Family and youth hours are Fridays from 3 p.m.to Sundays at 5 p.m. Additional aquatic center hours include Thursdays between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Memberships

Campus Recreation offers two membership options for CSU employees. The Full Membership is open all hours of operation with a yearly rate of $300. The Off-Peak Membership, at a yearly rate of $216, offers the benefits included in the Full Membership, but workout hours are restricted between 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Hours are not restricted over weekends and breaks. The chart below gives detailed pricing information for CSU employees.

Chart for Rec pricing

During the fall, winter, spring and summer recesses, family and youth hours are from open to close every day.

In support of the University Commitment to Campus wellness initiative, CSU subsidizes the price of a Campus Recreation Membership by 50 percent for any full-time salaried employee, Administrative Professional employee, State Classified employee, part-time AP employee, faculty, instructors, Associate Researchers, and temporary AF/AP employees. That means you would only pay $150 per year for a Full Membership.

Finally, CSU employees and their spouse/partners are eligible for a free one month trial membership which includes a free one hour fitness assessment with a personal trainer. This offer is only valid for employees and spouse/partners who have not already taken advantage of their free month in the past. For the employees who have already used this option, the new Free Week event offered this January will allow them to check out the space again at no cost.
