Employees prepare for parking battle during the Border War

The Rams are gearing up to host the Wyoming Cowboys for the 110th Border War: the first to take place in the new Canvas Stadium. The game, which will take place on Friday, Oct. 26, will require many staff and faculty to move their cars from campus well before the 8 p.m. kickoff. Class schedules and campus hours will not be altered, but access to parking and roads will be limited. Here’s how to make sure you’re prepared for game day.

  • Parking is available campus-wide during the day until 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26.
  • Anyone without a game ticket and associated parking pass must remove their vehicle from campus parking by 3 p.m. Vehicles that are not moved by that time will be ticketed, towed or both.
  • The traffic patterns through campus will change at 5 p.m., meaning that all access roads to campus will be inbound traffic, so plan on leaving campus before this time.
  • Game-day parking passes allotted to employees who are required to be on campus by their department heads will be valid during the game. These passes can be used after 3 p.m. in the area designated by the pass, and those using the pass may leave after 5 p.m. from the east side of campus only.

If you are able to work away from campus on the day of the Border War, the university recommends that you make plans with your supervisor to do so. Otherwise, consider taking public transportation such as Transfort, the MAX or ride your bike to avoid having to work around on-campus parking.

Around the Horn bus routes will provide regular service until 1 p.m., after which the route will only run on the east side of campus. At 5:15 p.m., Around the Horn will transition to serve game attendees and will only run from Lake and College to Canvas Stadium.
