In appreciation for the work performed by state employees, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis has declared two additional paid vacation days during the holiday season and has ordered state offices to close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. The additional time off is authorized as administrative leave for employees of the state, which includes Colorado State University employees.

CSU will observe the two additional governor’s holidays on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 23 and 24. Combined with our current days of closure – Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 25-27 – this enables the University to be closed for a full week, in addition to the early release at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The CSU deadline to submit grades is Dec. 23. Departments not able to fully close Dec. 23 and 24 in order to accommodate submission of grades or for the conduct of other critical activities should reschedule these days of administrative leave for essential employees in accordance with the provisions of Holiday Leave, as outlined in Section 3-3 on page 19 of the Human Resources Manual. All units are encouraged to preplan to close offices for the full week of Dec. 23-27, allowing employees the week of holiday leave.
